Dollar Store Nutcracker Craft

Have you seen the beautiful West Elm knock-off nutcrackers that Jacque from DIY Village made.

Well mine are not nearly as beautiful as Jacque’s.

And that’s because a bunch of 4 year old’s made these ones.

I picked these little guys up at Dollar Tree.

I removed the beards and hair from the nutcrackers.  Then primed them.  That took about 10 coats of spray primer.  The red was impossible to cover.

Then the kids got to work.

I warned you these ones aren’t nearly as amazing as Jacque’s.  But it was a fun craft to do with the kids and they are quite proud of them.

  1. Oh I love these. I of course love the simple one up top, but you know these more personal, more creative ones by your kiddos– nothing compares.

Just popping in to say “hey” and aloha from Thirsty World’s hop. We’re riding the wave of life at Local Sugar Hawaii and I’d love it if you’d join us. We’re gathering today for An Aloha Affair, a gathering and mingling and growing together of creative spirits, I think you’d love it. You are always welcome. Always.

  2. OMG how cute are these? What a great idea having the kids decorate them, can you imagine in 20 years hanging these little guys on your tree! So fun! Thank you for sharing my nutcrackers I am honored!
