Poolside with Huggies Little Swimmers & S’mores

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Huggies, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HuggiesSwimmers  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

I’m already dreading when our neighbourhood pool closes at the end of the summer. I struggle with keeping my boys entertained all day long.

But in the summer it’s easy. We live at the pool.

Although it may sound relaxing. It’s not. At least not for me.

The boys tear around the pool deck, and then catapult themselves into the deep end. No fear.

So to keep my stress level down, I always go prepared.

I pack up the bike trailer with the essentials: Huggies Little Swimmers swim diapers, towels, toys, sunscreen, life vests, and our special pool treats (the only way to get them out of the pool).

(We love our new bike trailer. You have to get one.)

You know how much I love coupons. Who doesn’t? So this week I headed to Target with my $1.50 off Huggies Little Swimmers coupon. Swim diapers are a must with my 2-year-old.

With my older son I used a cloth swim diaper. But lugging a wet diaper home all the time was not so cool. So now Huggies Little Swimmers disposable diapers are what we use. I keep a few in our swim bag and always have them on hand. They keep everything right where it’s suppose to be (out of the pool). The last thing you want is to be the reason they have to close the neighbourhood pool.

I love how they just tear off at the side. So easy.

I’ve spent a lot of money on pool toys in the past. But the kids seem to enjoy a paint brush, spray bottle and plastic cups more than any other fancy pool toy.

Now for our after pool snack. It’s actually the only way I can get the kids out of the pool. Yes I bribe my kids – that’s pretty much the only way I can get them to do anything.

Before we leave I wrap up the s’mores in tinfoil.pool-smores

Once we get to the pool, the kids lay their s’mores out in the hot North Carolina sun.

Then after our day of swimming, I spend 5 minutes screaming at them to get out of the pool. No one listens. I remember we have s’mores and suddenly the pool clears out.

I hope you and your family have a place to keep cool this summer. And don’t forget to pack your Huggies Little Swimmers.

  1. Right here is the right blog for anybody who would like to find out about this topic.
You know a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want to…HaHa).
You certainly put a new spin on a subject that’s been written about for years.
    Great stuff, just great!

  2. Danielle, that is such a great tip about taking ‘smores to the pool and leaving them out in the hot sun! I would never have thought of that. The next time the grandgirls are here, I’ll have to remember that. (They are all past the diaper stage!)

    • I so wish my kids were past the diaper stage!

We sometimes also put the s’mores on the dashboard of our car. We call them redneck s’mores.
