Flea Market Hunting with Kids

A perfect Fall weekend has to include a trip to the flea market.

We spent the morning at the Raleigh State Flea Market. Not really looking for anything in particular. That’s the kind of shopping I like.

This guy had a few Canada Dry crates that I’ve been looking for but they were way too expensive, and he wouldn’t budge on his price. Bummer.Raleigh Flea Market

I love some vintage quilts.vintage-fischer-price-dollhouse

Anyone else have this doll house as a kid? It was my favourite toy. I tried to buy it but my boys were far more interested in the toy cars.flea-market

Every time we go the boys each get $2 to spend on a little something for themselves. We came away with a transformer and a dinosaur. They were happy campers.

So what are the best thrifting places in your area?

  1. Where is that flea market!? I would love to go. I saw a few things in your pictures that I could use in the classroom.

    • Natalie, it’s at the Raleigh, NC State Fair Grounds. It’s every Sat and Sun (except for the weeks when the state fair is on). It’s a bit of a mix of stuff, but I always find lots of booths that I like.
