I’m kind of a sucker for thrift store lamps. When I see that shelf filled with big brassy, shade less lamps I just can’t help but buy them all up and give them a second chance on life.

I saved the image to my computer and uploaded it to my Silhouette Studio. And used the trace function to cut them out on a sheet of grey vinyl.

silhouette trace function Thrift Store Lamp MakeoverIf you have a Silhouette Cameo upload the image to Silhouette Studio. Select “Trace”, then “Select Trace Area” and put your cursor around the image you want to trace. Select “Trace Outer Edge” and then pull away the old image. You’ll be left with a red outline. Delete the old image. And cut like normal.

  1. I love this! I am getting ready to redo my 5 year old’s room in Star Wars decor and a lamp like this would be perfect! I would love for you to link this project up to the Thursday S.T.Y.L.E. Link Party I cohost. It goes live tomorrow night at 6:00 MST.

    • I know I’ve thought the same thing! Although I have bought a couple that didn’t work when I brought them home. That’s annoying.
