I was doing some random Craig’s List searches late one night and came across a vintage bamboo chair that I couldn’t live without. The Craig’s List ad led me to a Facebook page for emily co that was filled with really cool vintage and antique pieces. Each piece was pictured with inspiration images which is helpful as it’s often difficult to visualize a piece of vintage furniture in your home. And that’s what I thought was so brilliant about Emily’s facebook inspiration images.

I had to find out who this emily co person was. After exchanging a few Facebook messages we met up at Emily’s new studio space in Raleigh.

vintage-furniture-raleighEmily drives her brother’s beat up old pick-up truck all over North Carolina, using it to lug high quality furniture and art that she’s purchased at auctions. She repairs, paints, and re-upholsters anything that needs a little extra love – and sells it on Craig’s List and in her studio.

If you are looking for high quality vintage timeless pieces Emily is your girl.

Emily left her career as a designer to follow her passion and start her own shop. She currently shares a studio space with Vieux Vintage, a vintage props rental company. Located at 5920 Duraleigh Road, Unit A, Raleigh (just behind Waraji), she holds studio hours on Sundays and Wednesdays from 4-6pm.

If you’re in the Raleigh area stop by her studio on Sundays or Wednesdays and check out what she has in stock. Her stock is always changing as Emily is always scouting out auctions.

Both emily co and Vieux Vintage are having a huge warehouse sale on Saturday March 8 from 9 am to 2 pm. There will be lots of china, tabletop items, art, accessories, and furniture on clearance! You can find more info about the big blow out sale on her Facebook page. I’ll be there.

Emily asked me how I was going to makeover the chair. I told her I loved it just as it was. I think it surprised her. But I did make the little swiss cross pillow for it using a freezer paper stencil. You can find my tutorial for the pillow here.
