flea market swap1.jpg1 Flea Market Swap Reveal #SwapItLikeItsHotA Flea Market Challenge, heck yes! So much fun.

The challenge was to spend about $10 at a thrift store and mail your finds to the next blogger on the list. I was in charge of sending Charlotte from Ciburbanity my thrift store finds. And I can’t wait to see what she came up with.

Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co. sent me items. And I’ll tell you, that was some major pressure. Lindsay is so beyond creative that I just hope my little makeover lives up to her expectations.

It was so much fun opening up the box and seeing what Lindsay had picked out for me. Love the little petal bowl and wicker duck.

So fun.

And things I never would have picked out myself.

garden planter.jpg Flea Market Swap Reveal #SwapItLikeItsHotSo I may not have been overly creative with my makeover. But it took me a total of about five minutes and was something I’ve actually been needing anyways.

Sometimes those are the best kind of makeovers.

This summer has been my summer for focussing on my garden. I’ve been dying to get some cool garden art out there, but just haven’t wanted to spend the money on anything. So this was a good opportunity to make something for free.

probond glue1.jpg1 Flea Market Swap Reveal #SwapItLikeItsHotI already had the old spindle (check out your local ReStore they will have loads of them). I simply glued the metal petal bowl on top of the spindle. Just be sure to use outdoor glue.creeping jenny.jpg Flea Market Swap Reveal #SwapItLikeItsHotI planted a tiny little creeping jenny plant about three years ago and it’s spread everywhere in my garden. I love the fresh pop of green. I filled my old bird bath with creeping jenny and it’s starting to cascade down the side. I planted a bit in the bowl and I’m hoping it will continue to creep down the side of the bowl and spindle.

I didn’t get around to giving the duck a makeover, but I plan on planting a little succulent in him.

Thanks for the great finds Lindsay!

I’m pretty excited to see what everyone else found at the flea market, and how everyone transformed their items. Check out each of these creative bloggers…

  1. Adorable! I never would have thought to do that….wonderful creativity! I might have to look for some old spindles myself. :-) Love this!
